Unforeseen waves of trepidation washes over me as I trudge along the steep trails of Memory Lane. You see, my Memory Lane consists of candy sticks, chocolate fountains and marshmallow flowers and sucrose-glazed mountain tops. Yet there comes a clearing, where the land is derelict, barren of life, exactly like how earth looked like before it had Bacterium No.1 landing on it.Ahh.. okay..okay.. let see if the transpiration of reality is less morose. Our judgments are always impaired by emotions. Be it love, hate, rage, passion or even the lack of emotion. We all are fully aware that we of all people shouldn't be judging anyone else as we wouldn't want the same treatment for ourselves. But in the end, we still do. No matter how much we want to put things into perspective for ourselves. We all still judge others. Most by their looks, few by their intellectuality and others by their history. But have we really microscoped into our lives? Have we really seen how we appear to the person in front of us? Or have we all come past the fact that we don't care about what anyone else thinks of us? Seriously, I'm dubious. I know people act the way they do because they want other people to see them for who they are. Yes, Shakespeare laid it out there with such impeccability, " All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances;" Don't we all put the Oscars to shame? The perpetration of dissimilation. Indeed we are the goddamned actors and actresses. We all act in a certain way because we don't want to be misjudged. Sometimes people act so that we can attain what they want. Like making someone happy or laugh or even jealous. Occasionally we act that way to suppress our surfacing emotions. Fundamentally it still narrows down to the fact that we are still humans. Human in our behavior, human in our flaws, human in our judgment. However how painful that judgment is, in the end it is someone else's view that we have to cope with and accept, or even might want to alter. That's human frailty showing a section of it's morbidly beatific face. Every individual has the power to change the things around them. Think. A different word used? Words are powerful devices. Each one of them has it's own degree of positivity and negativity. Sad? Devastated? What do those words mean to you? Haha, okay, I'm not trying to play English teacher here. That was just an example. Personally I don't see any wrong in judging someone. I've been judged by lots of people and I don't see myself morphing into someone I'm not. Because, like I said before, what they think is not important to me. The view of those who know me personally are more important than someone who sees me once and decides (e.g.)I have a horrible taste in fashion (which is so not true..haha). In the end it all boils down to how strong and true we are to ourselves that in a cyclical fashion we do not become impaired by the judgment of others. But to just become the walking judgment of ourselves. Monday, November 13, 2006

Cyanide smile, absence of guile, Of endless depths, stringed with innocent breaths. I look up and see, your face in glee, Outstretched hands, on the earth of sands. Effortless in emotions, quixotic notions, Vivacity at every step, You're just a human trap. Not too long ago, Realised at my very low, You whom I tried to find, I made up in my mind. |
